Job summary

Advanced Integration Technology, LP is seeking a Technical Writer to support end-users by analyzing information support requirements and writing and upgrading product documentation for aerospace tooling and automation equipment.

You will work with mechanical designers, software engineers and electrical engineers, translating complex concepts into clear manuals, using CAD models and illustrations to tell a concise story.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in professional writing, technical writing, or in a technical field is required.
• Minimum of three years of technical writing or similar experience with a focus on aerospace tooling design and automated equipment.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software to create illustrations from CAD models.

Responsibilities

• Understand documentation requirements by conferring with engineers; study mechanical designs using CAD models in CATIA V5, NX, Solidworks, Pro E, etc.
• Document complex concepts so a semi-skilled user can understand them.
• Write operations manuals with illustrations and text that tell the story clearly and concisely.
• Prepare maintenance manuals with the target skilled user in mind.
• Verify documentation by observing product use and interviewing users.
• Improve documentation by evaluating FAQs and interviewing support staff and users.
• Update knowledge by attending workshops and reading professional publications.
