Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is offering an engineering internship in Dayton, OH. You will participate in technical projects, receive mentorship, and contribute to documented records and analyses to support decision making.

Applicants must be enrolled in engineering/CS programs with analytical strengths, collaboration skills, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Prior familiarity with CAD/MATLAB and MS Office is a plus; travel or lab work may be required.

Qualifications

• Sophomore, junior, or senior in college/technical school with at least 6 months to graduation.
• Currently enrolled in an engineering, CS, or related program.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in actual technical projects and contribute to team objectives by completing assigned tasks.
• Receive mentorship from experienced professionals in your field.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records.
• Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting technical data to support engineering decisions.
• Attend planning meetings to understand project requirements, timelines, and goals.
• Perform hands-on technical work to gain practical experience.
• Learn from team members and apply gained knowledge to projects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support best-practice implementations.
• Participate in workshops to understand the business and company culture.
