Job summary

MTSI is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to support AFLCMC/WBZ at Tinker AFB, OK. The role focuses on electronics engineering for weapon systems, avionics, and subsystems, applying Air Force systems engineering processes and MBSE concepts to ensure safe, effective performance.

You will work with senior engineers on requirements, interfaces, and test activities, prepare documentation for compliance packages, and contribute to risk assessments, safety, OSS&E, and field support.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in a related technical field with years of hands-on engineering experience.
• SAP experience is required for access considerations.
• Active Top Secret clearance within five years and eligibility for SCI and SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Apply Air Force system engineering processes to interpret warfighter needs within cost/schedule/performance constraints.
• Ensure subsystem integration into operational systems by evaluating risks and recommending solutions.
• Provide technical analysis and risk assessments to senior leadership as a core resource.
• Perform RDT&E and sustainment activities for aircraft platforms and advanced weapons.
• Review interoperability requirements for physical, electrical, and logical compatibility.
• Apply avionics, electrical circuits, EMI/EMC, and safety-of-flight standards knowledge.
• Maintain familiarity with MBSE and model-based design concepts.
• Translate warfighter requirements into detailed hardware/software specs.
• Assess system test plans and support test execution as controller or data analyst.
• Prepare documentation for MIL‑HDBK‑516 and flight clearance packages.
• Ensure OSS&E for fielded systems leveraging T.O., Depot activities, and field support.
• Interpret/modify electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and ICDs.
• Conduct RCA for interface failures and document findings.
• Evaluate contractor proposals, SOWs, and engineering estimates.
• Travel up to 25% in support of program activities.
