Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is building a hands-on manufacturing role in our Midland, TX facility. You will build, assemble, and maintain large satellite hardware components, interpreting engineering drawings and working with cranes and torque tools. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and collaborative problem-solving with engineering and production teams.

Relocation to Midland is provided. The role offers a 1st shift schedule (Mon-Thu, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM with overtime) and growth into higher-level roles

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance environment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with mechanical assemblies and fastening systems.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems.
• Assemble and disassemble large-scale mechanical components per engineering specifications.
• Install, configure, and test equipment and systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Read and interpret work instructions, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
• Document work performed, including troubleshooting steps and outcomes.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed.
