Skyeton Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, integrate, and support software for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The role collaborates with systems, avionics, manufacturing, and flight teams to design reliable and secure software for production and deployed aircraft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience (entry-level candidates with exceptional internship or project experience may be considered).
• Strong proficiency in C++, C, Python, or Java.
• Experience with Git or other source control systems.
• Experience with Linux-based development environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented programming.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for UAV systems and supporting ground applications.
• Develop embedded, desktop, and/or cloud-based applications supporting aircraft operation and mission planning.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing engineers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop software interfaces for avionics, sensors, communications equipment, and payload systems.
• Participate in software architecture, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Create automated testing tools and validation procedures.
• Troubleshoot software issues during integration, manufacturing, and flight testing.
• Maintain software documentation, design records, and configuration management.
• Support production, field operations, and customer technical issues as required.
• Ensure software complies with company quality standards and cybersecurity best practices.
