Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized Quality Engineer to oversee the quality aspects of flight and propulsion control systems for VTOL electric aircraft. This role helps baseline design efforts and pave the way to production in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in a Quality/Manufacturing Engineering role, strong knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100, and experience with data visualization, SPC, and root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a Quality/Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 or TS16949 Quality Management System.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development, verification, and manufacture using APQP, Continuous Improvement, and SPC.
• Perform design reviews and recommend improvements.
• Develop and manage data with visualization tools for product/process improvements.
• Review quality systems to assure compliance with drawings and ISO/AS9100.
• Analyze failures for root cause and corrective actions.
• Understand risk management as part of QA work scope.
• Maintain supplier quality flow-down requirements and act as Voice of the Customer.
• Represent Quality on MRB and Engineering Change Actions.
