Job summary

Bastion Technologies invites applications for a Quality Engineer to support the MSFC SMASS II contract in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on interpreting and coordinating QA/QE activities across aerospace manufacturing and testing environments.

Candidates should have 5+ years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO9000 and MRB processes. Onsite work with potential travel and strict security requirements are involved.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of recent and related work experience; in lieu of degree: 9+ years experience considered.
• Knowledge of NASA S&MA requirements and manufacturing processes.
• Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO9000 quality management system requirements.
• Ability to read complex blueprints, charts, and specification sheets.
• MRB experience is critical to this role.
• Manufacturing and production work center experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, organize, and coordinate QA/QE assignments; plan and develop S&MA engineering and assurance activity.
• Prepare, evaluate, and provide assessments of quality processes and manufacturing activities; implement procedures.
• Review QA/QE documentation for compliance with NASA policies and program requirements.
• Support documentation for manufacturing, inspection, and test phases of programs.
• Participate in government milestone reviews to evaluate certification requirements for design, safety, production, testing, and operation.
• Develop/use tools to identify applicable quality requirements for MSFC programs/projects.
• Perform drawing and procurement documentation reviews.
• Provide support on quality plans, surveillance plans, inspection instructions, first article inspections, NC resolutions, test, failure investigations, RCCA analysis, and other QE functions.
• Develop metrics as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
