Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure aerospace products, processes, and suppliers meet customer requirements, specs, and regulatory standards. You will partner across quality, engineering, operations, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement and support safe, reliable components.

The role involves leading investigations, developing inspection plans, performing FAIs, and contributing to audits and process improvements in a on-site Windsor, CT environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Mechanical, Aerospace, Metallurgical) preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing/aerospace/regulatory environments.
• Knowledge of QMS and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer & regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
• Lead investigations of nonconforming material and quality system issues using 8D, RCCA, and Five Why.
• Develop and maintain inspection plans, control plans, procedures and work instructions.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102.
• Analyze quality data and implement corrective/preventive actions to improve product quality.
• Support audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Monitor key quality metrics like scrap, rework, yield, and customer complaints.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
• Participate in process validation, production readiness reviews and continuous improvement.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to verify quality standards.
• Develop inspection methods and quality controls for product conformity.
• Prepare reports on quality performance and improvement opportunities.
