Job summary

Natilus is seeking a Project Engineer to join our engineering team in San Diego, CA. This role supports planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities across multiple disciplines as we advance our blended-wing-body aircraft development.

You will work with leadership and cross-functional teams to coordinate deliverables, manage schedules, track milestones, and identify risks that may affect development objectives. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience in a project engineer or PM role.
• Experience supporting aircraft development, integration, testing, or certification.
• Strong understanding of engineering processes and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering projects across multiple disciplines (structures, aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, mechanical systems).
• Manage technical deliverables and timelines with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and external partners.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize work and allocate resources.
• Identify dependencies and schedule risks; drive solutions.
• Facilitate design reviews, technical meetings, and project updates.
• Support change management, configuration control, and documentation.
• Coordinate aircraft integration, ground testing, and flight-test prep.
• Improve workflows to enable efficient project execution.
• Take ownership of assigned workstreams to meet milestones.
