Job summary

Aptara is seeking Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspectors to perform inspections on aircraft structures and components using RT, UT, ET, MP and PT methods. Work is onsite in the Greater Seattle, WA area.

You will set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, document results, and interpret acceptance criteria. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of NDT experience with NAS 410, reading drawings and procedures, and a willingness to work varying shifts including overtime.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant NDT inspection/technician experience with NAS 410.
• NAS 410 certification preferred.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, specifications, and NDT procedures.
• Aircraft or aerospace-component inspection experience.
• Able to work around aircraft and manufacturing equipment, including confined spaces.
• Available for multiple shifts, overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must complete required safety, vision and customer-certification testing.
• Must follow all radiation-safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and interpret, evaluate, and document results.
• Document inspection results and use the applicable specifications, codes, standards and other contract documents to prepare procedures and techniques for Level III approval.
• Interpret inspection indications and determine whether results meet applicable acceptance criteria.
