Job summary

True Anomaly seeks a Developmental Test Technician to support hands-on mechanical test operations at our Long Beach site and remote test locations. You will assemble spacecraft structures and fixtures, configure test setups, and run campaigns under the direction of test engineers in a fast-paced startup environment.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using precision tools, and traveling between sites.

Qualifications

Technical degree or equivalent hands-on training in mechanical systems.
5+ years hands-on experience in mechanical testing or assembly.
Ability to read engineering drawings and procedures.
Familiarity with torque control and fastener standards.
Willingness to travel between sites.
U.S. Citizenship required for government contracts.

Responsibilities

Assemble, configure, and set up mechanical test articles and fixtures for structural, mechanism, and vibration tests.
Execute mechanical test operations and validate performance under engineer guidance.
Fabricate, modify, and repair test fixtures and hardware using hand and power tools.
Operate and maintain test equipment, torque tools, and measurement devices.
Document inspections, torque applications, and non-conformances with test engineering.
Set up instrumentation with sensors (strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples).
Maintain inventory, calibration, and readiness of tooling and equipment.
Assist in anomaly investigations and document as-found conditions.
Travel regularly between Long Beach HQ and remote test sites.
