Job summary

Pyka is seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Intern to work directly with the Mechanical Engineering team, contributing to aircraft hardware and the entire design cycle. You will learn how electromechanical systems go from concept to deployment while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams.

You’ll gain real-world experience on active projects, touching diverse parts and subsystems, and you will see how hardware, software, and operations come together in

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Interest in electric aviation, robotics, sustainability.
• Strong problem-solving and curiosity.
• Hands-on shop experience.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, NX, Inventor, or similar).
• Preferred: experience with FEA, composites, 3D printing, CNC machining.
• Preferred graduation window: Winter 2026 – Spring 2028.
• Open to candidates not matching all qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support design, prototyping, testing of mechanical components.
• Validate environmental and performance requirements.
• Investigate hardware issues from flight testing.
• Create or update 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on build improvements.
• Conduct hands-on testing and analysis to support milestones.
• Present findings at internship end.
