Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Assembler– Level 1 at our Bethpage, NY facility. You will build complex assemblies from digital drawings and 3D models using hand, pneumatic, and power tools, contributing to aerospace equipment production.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience, with the ability to read schematics and work on shifts that may include weekends. A U.S. Government secret clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 2+ years of mechanical assembling experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanics, fasteners, hardware, and structural buildouts.
• Proficient with MS Office and CAD viewers daily.
• High hand-eye coordination for precision assembly.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings, models and SOPs to ensure builds are accurate.
• Safely use hand/power tools and measuring instruments to fit parts.
• Inspect components before/after assembly to detect defects and malfunctions.
• Lift and move heavy parts safely across the shop floor.
