ASD Manufacturing seeks a skilled Manufacturing Technician to support fabrication, assembly, calibration, and quality testing of components and final products. You will work closely with engineers to set up prototypes, run tests, analyze data, and modify procedures to meet specifications.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using hand tools safely, and maintaining orderly shop conditions. Flexibility in shifts and strong initiative are essential.

Qualifications

  • US Citizen required with high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related education/experience.
  • Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be on feet for varying hours each day
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on manufacturing schedules
  • Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability
  • Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and/or schematics
  • Familiarity with proper hand tool technique and safety
  • Familiarity with the concept of Torque

Responsibilities

  • Uses programs to collect and evaluate operating data for on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Notates usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on adhesive materials.
  • Reports data and interfaces with other employees and departments.
  • Reads and understands manufacturing/engineering drawings and shop planning.
  • Maintains overall shop appearance and cleanliness.

Job description: A Manufacturing Technician performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. They use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of duties relating to the fabrication or assembly of mechanical components for larger assemblies.
  • Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
  • Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
  • May assist mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications of assemblies and components.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2
  • Must be a US Citizen High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be on feet for up to various hours each day
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules
  • Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
  • Ability to navigate and operate within a Microsoft Office Environment (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
  • Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and/or schematics
  • Familiarity with the proper hand tool technique and safety (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc
  • Familiarity with the concept of Torque
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3: Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient use of electronic test equipment such as DC power supplies, Digital Multimeters, and Source Meters.
  • Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic
  • Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues
  • Experience with cranes and rigging, forklifts, and similar manufacturing equipment
