Job summary

ASD Manufacturing seeks a skilled Manufacturing Technician to support fabrication, assembly, calibration, and quality testing of components and final products. You will work closely with engineers to set up prototypes, run tests, analyze data, and modify procedures to meet specifications.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using hand tools safely, and maintaining orderly shop conditions. Flexibility in shifts and strong initiative are essential.

Qualifications

• US Citizen required with high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related education/experience.
• Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
• Ability to be on feet for varying hours each day
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on manufacturing schedules
• Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
• Demonstrated mechanical ability
• Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and/or schematics
• Familiarity with proper hand tool technique and safety
• Familiarity with the concept of Torque

Responsibilities

• Performs fabrication or assembly of mechanical components for larger assemblies.
• Sets up and tests prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
• Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedures to meet specifications.
• May assist engineers in development of mechanical and electromechanical designs, tests, fabrications of assemblies and components.
• Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including set-up and calibration tasks, rework and quality testing.
• Uses programs to collect and evaluate operating data for on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
• Notates usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on adhesive materials.
• Reports data and interfaces with other employees and departments.
• Reads and understands manufacturing/engineering drawings and shop planning.
• Maintains overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
