Job summary

Centraprise in Troy, MI is seeking an Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing Engineer for a complete onsite role. The candidate will lead manufacturing engineering activities, create PFMEA, tooling plans, and shop-floor documentation, collaborating with operators, quality, and the client focal point to optimize processes.

The ideal candidate has extensive CAD experience (SOLIDWORKS/ALTIUM/CATIA/Creo/NX), familiarity with AS9100, lean tools, and MBSE.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Aerospace and Defense industry.
• 7-10 years manufacturing/production engineering experience, ideally in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
• Expert in 2D drafting and 3D CAD with ability to create/update drawings (shop aids, tooling, detail drawings).
• Strong experience with 2D drafting & 3D CAD tools (SOLIDWORKS/ALTIUM/CATIA/Creo/NX).
• Familiarity with PFMEA, work instructions, routings, and shop-floor documentation.
• Experience with lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, TAKT analysis, cycle-time analysis) and cell-layout optimization.
• Experience with MBSE a plus; AS9100 familiarity and DFM-driven cost reduction.
• Ability to design tooling, update work instructions, and bridge delta to design definitions.

Responsibilities

• Document current operations and shop-floor instructions.
• Create PFMEA for manufacturing processes and tooling maintenance plans.
• Design new tooling or retro-engineer parts lacking updated definition.
• Create/update shop-aid drawings and work instructions to reflect new designs.
• Update routing and work orders to optimize process and TAKT time.
• Identify bottlenecks, improve cell layouts and shop-floor flow.
• Create/update ATPs and support testing; define packaging specs for BUY items.
• Support ENG/ME/QE signature release loop from manufacturing engineering.
