Job summary

A-1 Machining Company in New Britain, CT is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer and CNC Programmer to join our team. You will program CNC machines, optimize tooling, produce first articles, and drive process improvements for aerospace components.

Responsibilities include creating setup/tool sheets, drawings, and control documentation; designing fixtures; managing projects from programming through production and supporting machinists with continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a job shop environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with aerospace materials.
• Experience communicating across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• CNC programming for turning or milling to meet customer drawings.
• Create setup sheets, tool sheets and control documentation for aerospace parts.
• Create drawings for projects and products.
• Design tooling, fixtures, jigs or other devices.
• Manage projects from programming into production and provide machinists support.
• Conduct problem solving and process improvements including cost reductions.
• Create methods and job travelers.
