Job summary

Amazon LEO is seeking a Lab Test Engineer to keep automated production test racks fully operational, calibrated, and ready for use by technicians. You will troubleshoot hardware, electrical, mechanical, and software issues, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve production problems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience
• 2+ years testing, troubleshooting, and debugging automated test systems including electrical, mechanical, electronic, networking, and software systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and/or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of production test station (automated test equipment) hardware/software design and factory deployment
• 2+ years of experience with electrical test equipment, data acquisition, and control software
• Experience writing/reading/debugging software in Python, C, C# or other language

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and improve test automation hardware supporting production testing
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical or software problems on the fly, working with an integrated cross-functional team of manufacturing engineers, test engineers, lab technicians and maintenance teams to resolve
• Perform RCCA of issues in production testing and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Develop and maintain calibration procedures for RF test equipment
• Define and implement solutions to optimize and automate environmental testing
• Work with other engineers to refine test requirements and the methodologies to achieve those requirements
• Willing to “roll up sleeves and do what needs to be done” in a small, specialized, team environment
• Must be willing to work off shifts and weekends as required
• Plan preventive maintenance and calibration tracking
• Oversee spare test racks readiness and rapid swap-in readiness
