Job summary

Sierra Nevada Company, LLC is seeking an Aerospace Engineering Intern in Hagerstown, MD for a part-time summer program. You will engage in real projects within a dynamic aerospace/defense environment, mentored by industry professionals, and gain hands-on experience in C4ISR-related systems.

Requirements include enrollment as a Sophomore–Senior, strong analytical skills, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
Must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior with at least 6 months until graduation after end of internship.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Participate in actual technical projects and contribute to team objectives by completing assigned tasks.
Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records as required.
Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting technical data to support engineering decisions.
Attend planning meetings to understand project requirements, timelines, and team goals.
Perform hands‑on technical work assignments to gain practical experience and build technical skills.
Work closely with team members and learn from their expertise to apply learning to projects.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of best practices.
Participate in workshops designed to provide a deeper understanding of the business and company culture.
