Job summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) in Cypress, CA is seeking an Aerospace EMP Engineer to support EMP hardening and assessments on aircraft and facilities. The role involves multidisciplinary design, testing, and documentation across projects for DoD and DoE customers.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in physics/EE/aerospace engineering, experience with EMI/EMC devices, spectrum/network analyzers, and basic programming. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in physics, electrical or aerospace engineering, or pulsed power.
• US Citizen able to obtain DoD clearance.
• Experience with EMI/EMC testing equipment and spectrum/network analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Support EMP assessments for aircraft and ground facilities; travel as needed.
• Design, develop, test, and document multidisciplinary engineering tasks.
• Write detailed technical reports and maintain project docs.
• Perform hands-on testing with lab equipment and data acquisition.
• Coordinate with customers, leaders, and program managers; travel up to 30%.
