Job summary

GuideTech, a Palladyne AI subsidiary, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop real-time avionics software in C/C++ for aerospace systems. You will work across hardware, systems, and autonomy teams throughout the product lifecycle.

You’ll be challenged by complex problems near the hardware, with opportunities to see software run on production hardware and in HIL simulations. Strong embedded experience and Zynq/ARM familiarity are valued. This on-site role is based in Lenexa, KS.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded real-time systems.
• Experience with embedded applications in aerospace/defense is expected.
• Familiar with Zynq/ARM platforms and Xilinx tools (Vivado, Vitis).
• Experience with interfaces such as UART, I2C, CAN, SPI is preferred.
• Soldering and hardware-harnessing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for real-time aerospace/defense applications.
• Write efficient, reliable code for embedded processors and microcontrollers.
• Interface software with sensors, actuators, and hardware peripherals.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and real-time responsiveness.
• Support hardware bring-up, integration, debugging, and testing.
• Debug and validate software using simulators, oscilloscopes, and HIL environments.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and autonomy engineers.
