Job summary

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics in Wichita, Kansas is seeking an Engineering Manager (Electrical/Mechanical) to lead the development of electro-mechanical products from concept through certification and production.

You will plan, direct, and oversee project scope, schedule, and resources, manage a diverse engineering team, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum 10 years designing and/or managing development of electro-mechanical products.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing direct reports.
• Experience in regulated product development.
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with design, ERP, and project management software tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and successfully complete new product development projects across lifecycle phases (concept, design, test, certification, production).
• Provide strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills; maintain results focus.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet technical and programmatic targets.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality requirements are satisfied.
• Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports; manage team performance.

Education

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering

10+ years electro-mechanical product design/development experience

5+ years in people management / direct reports

experience in regulated industry product development

experience in a manufacturing environment

proficient with design, ERP, and project management software tools
