Job summary

FMI, a long-time leader in high-temperature materials and aerospace components, seeks a Cost Estimator to prepare fully compliant cost and pricing estimates for aerospace and defense contracts. The role involves coordinating with engineering and finance teams onsite, leading process improvements, and coaching junior staff.

Strong ProPricer experience and knowledge of government regulations are required. Candidates will engage in fact-finding, negotiations, and strategic direction for estimating

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with statistical understanding and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills: multiple workbooks, large data sets, advanced formulas.
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS/CAS.
• Ability to prepare well-supported estimate positions.
• Experience in cost estimating for aerospace/defense contracts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in customer discussions to identify requirements and expectations in proposals.
• Assist in negotiations and formulate negotiation strategies to meet objectives.
• Provide strategic direction for pricing tools and process improvements.
• Assist in cost/pricing government DCMA audits.
• Review CLM estimating processes for maintenance and opportunities.
• Serve as proposal team member and cost volume leader.
• Review drawings and specifications to prepare estimates.
• Prepare cost estimates using ProPricer and distribute budgets.
