Job summary

SkillSource Tech, located near Springfield, MA, seeks a Cost Estimator with aerospace manufacturing experience for a full-time, first shift position. You will review specifications and blueprints to estimate material, labor, and tooling costs, generate BOMs and manufacturing orders, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost estimation in aerospace manufacturing.
• HS diploma or GED; ASME or BSME desirable.
• Minimum 5 years' cost estimation experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CNC machine capabilities and related processes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret customer blueprints/specs.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of CAD software for blueprint translation into calculations.
• Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude with emphasis on precision.
• Cross-functional collaboration in a manufacturing environment.
• Vendor management and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret detailed materials, blueprints, schematics, and specs to estimate material, labor, and tooling costs.
• Develop and deliver accurate project quotes aligning with capabilities and client requirements.
• Develop manufacturing routings, BOMs, and labor estimates.
• Interact with engineering, production, and supply chain to validate manufacturability.
• Interact with vendors and subcontractors to maximize cost-efficiency.
• Monitor raw materials pricing trends to adjust estimation strategies.
