Job summary

Applied Composites in Los Alamitos, CA is seeking a mid-level Estimator to provide detailed cost estimates for aerospace projects and support pricing decisions. You will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to translate project scope into capital costs and to monitor profitability across programs.

The role requires 3–7 years of estimating experience and a post-secondary degree in engineering, business, or management.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in cost estimation or related field.
• Strong estimating experience and ability to perform complex analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develops detailed project cost estimates including project complexity factors and key input data such as project objectives, scope and economic analysis.
• Translates the identified project scope and engineering deliverables into the estimate of capital expenditure costs.
• Creates and establishes cost-monitoring processes to allow the company to track profit or loss for each project.
• Manages reviews and audits of cost estimates, formulates, and validate methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters.
• Extrapolates cost curves based on firsthand experience of scheduled activities/cost correlation analysis.
• Ensures that cost development policies and procedures are in compliance with government laws, regulations and management objectives.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
