Job summary

Applied Composites Inc. in California is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in aerospace composites to develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and cost estimates for new opportunities.

You will lead manufacturing methods, BOMs, and supplier quoting, while applying lean and Six Sigma to improve yields and cycle times; experience with CATIA V5 and FiberSim is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Experience with composite processing methods.
• Ability to read customer specs and 2D drawings (GD&T).
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing methods and processes, tooling statements of work, and equipment specifications.
• Estimate labor hours using data, time studies, or parametric methods.
• Obtain tooling quotations and price quotes from suppliers.
• Collaborate with buyers for material pricing and supplier quotes.
• Write technical content for proposals detailing manufacturing approaches.
• Evaluate alternative materials and processes to improve performance and reduce costs.
