Job summary

Omni Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Machinist Intern to support our manufacturing team in CNC setup, operation, and monitoring of mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines.

You will learn to read drawings, interpret GD&T, and perform in-process inspections with precision tools, contributing to aerospace component quality. Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a technical or college program in Manufacturing Technology, Machining, Engineering, Aerospace Technology, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of CNC machining principles.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand basic GD&T concepts preferred.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines under supervision.
• Load/unload raw materials and finished parts into machining centers.
• Monitor machine operations for quality, accuracy, and productivity.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Perform in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators.
• Record inspection results and production data accurately.
• Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, fixture prep, and preventive maintenance.
• Deburr, clean, and prepare machined components for next operations.
• Follow aerospace quality standards, company procedures, and safety.
• Maintain 5S lean practices and a clean work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.
• Learn CNC programming fundamentals, tooling applications, and machining best practices.
