Job summary

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) in Savannah, GA seeks an Aircraft Cabinetmaker to fabricate aircraft furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies per drawings. The role progresses from entry to Sr levels, using laminates, veneers and hardware, while maintaining safety and Lean practices.

The position is a 12-month contract with potential extension and per diem, plus benefits and a path to direct hire after 90 days. HS diploma and woodworking experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience ranges from entry level in woodworking, finishing, or auto body & painting to four years in cabinetmaking; aerospace preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learns entry-level skills, regulatory requirements and tooling for aircraft cabinetmaking; develops to technician level.
• Uses laminates, veneers and cap strips with drawings to prepare and make furniture.
• Works with material tracking system to create parts demand and sign-off completed work.
• Adheres to safety, 5S and housekeeping policies; protects aircraft interior.
• Assists in development and implementation of related initiatives.
• Fabricates furniture and subassemblies using blueprints and drawings.
• Assembles cabinet shells, installs hardware and applies exterior finishes.
• Uses power tools to fabricate or disassemble furniture.
