Job summary

Accurate Tooling Solutions is seeking an Aerospace Builder/Upgrader to construct, assemble, modify, and upgrade tooling and fixtures per engineering drawings and quality standards. You will work in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on precision and documentation.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, performing upgrades and repairs, and coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to meet schedules while maintaining a safe workspace.

Qualifications

  • Experience building, assembling, upgrading, or repairing aerospace tooling or manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, tooling, fabrication, machining, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.

  • Build, assemble, and modify aerospace tooling, fixtures, dies, and related components.
  • Perform tooling upgrades, repairs, alterations, and improvements based on engineering changes and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Fit, align, shim, drill, tap, grind, and perform other mechanical assembly operations as required.
  • Identify and troubleshoot fit, alignment, dimensional, and assembly issues.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project Management to complete projects accurately and on schedule.
  • Verify completed work meets dimensional, functional, and quality requirements.
  • Make adjustments and corrections to tooling as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate project status, issues, and completion information.
  • Follow AS9100D, customer, company, and applicable aerospace quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with installation, testing, tryout, and final acceptance of tooling when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PositionSummary

The Aerospace Builder/Upgrader is responsible for building, assembling, modifying, and upgrading aerospace tooling, fixtures, and related components according to engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and modify aerospace tooling, fixtures, dies, and related components.
  • Perform tooling upgrades, repairs, alterations, and improvements based on engineering changes and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.

  • Ability to work to tight tolerances and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and components as required by the position.

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace tooling or fixture-building experience.
  • Experience with aircraft structures or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience performing tooling upgrades and modifications.
  • Welding, fabrication, machining, or assembly experience.
  • Experience working in an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with GD&T and dimensional inspection.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and position materials and tooling as required.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other safety equipment.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an aerospace manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to machinery, metalworking operations, noise, dust, and other typical manufacturing conditions. Proper PPE and safety procedures are required at all times.
