Job summary
A high-speed aircraft manufacturer in Atlanta seeks a skilled engineer to lead projects ensuring safety and efficiency in manufacturing. The successful candidate will work directly with engineering teams, contribute to design reviews, and support the transition of products from design to production. Salary range is between $110,000 - $180,000, and the role requires on-site work.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline
2+ years of experience in design and or production of electronics hardware systems
Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and subassemblies
Experience with end to end printed circuit board fabrication
Experience with high power electronics and/or motor drivers
Demonstrated professional experience providing engineering and manufacturing support for the production of highly complex electronic products
Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team
Hands-on experience with passion for continuous improvement and building the best hardware
Experience implementing design for manufacturing and design for test feedback
Strong communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
Ability to make appropriate assumptions and perform trade studies using first principles and engineering fundamentals to create rationale for clear recommendations
Demonstrated experience with CAD and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in control and monitoring of complex automated systems and risk assessment/reduction of the system
Knowledge of ERP systems, work order creation/management and BOM structures
Responsibilities
Lead improvement projects to ensure safety and process capability goals are achieved
Be a vital part of the relationship between our engineering and technician team
Provide input into design and development of new and existing hardware
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action recommendations
Apply process improvement methodologies to reduce build hours and quality issues
Manage projects and execute to tight timelines while communicating with stakeholders
Train technicians, engineers, and leaders on operations practices
Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability
Ideate and implement tooling and test solutions
Be responsible for manufacturability of assigned products
Contribute to design reviews as an expert
Be the primary contact for non-conforming products
Work on process and tooling development for new products
Drive optimization of assembly and test procedures
Prepare engineering documentation for production
