Job summary

Ontic is seeking an Assembler III for our Chatsworth, CA site to assemble and test complex aerospace assemblies and subassemblies. You will read engineering drawings, install components, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot to ensure high-quality products meet specs.

Mentoring less experienced assemblers and driving continuous improvement are key parts of the role. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of aerospace assembly experience, excels with precision tools, and can work independently while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of mechanical assembly experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or precision manufacturing.
• Advanced electro/mechanical assembly techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics with minimal supervision and directions.
• Proficient with torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Experience with calibration and functional testing.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex mechanical and electromechanical products using drawings and work instructions.
• Perform high-complexity electro/mechanical assembly with close tolerances.
• Install, align, adjust, and fit components with tools and torque equipment.
• Conduct preset calibration, in-process inspections, functional testing, and final testing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly and test issues and determine corrective actions.
• Maintain QA records, inspection docs, and production records.
• Suggest improvements to work instructions, tooling, processes and quality systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues and support new products.
• Train, mentor, and coach new assemblers; promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per safety and quality requirements.
