Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is hiring a Laborer Telecom Aerial to support an aerial crew in installing and maintaining fiber/telecom cables and materials. You will provide tools and materials, move equipment, and ensure safety via tagging and notifications.

The role requires 18+ years old, a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to be certified as a pole climber. Willingness to travel and work in all weather is expected.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Certified pole climber or willing to become certified.
• Labor experience in telecommunications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed.
• Complete door-tagging and resident notifications before daily work.
• Stock, clean, and maintain company vehicles/equipment.
• Perform hand digging with shovels/mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic per local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel, and be on-call when needed.
• Operate in all weather conditions.

What you’ll do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
• Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
