Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is hiring a Laborer Telecom Aerial in Gaylord, MI to support an Aerial Telecom Crew with installing and maintaining fiber/telecom cables and materials. This hourly role requires you to provide tools, move equipment, and tag doors before daily work.

You will stock and maintain vehicles, perform hand digging, and manage traffic per DOT rules. Must be 18+, authorized to work in the U.S., hold a HS diploma or GED, and have a valid driver’s license; pole climber

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Pole climber certification or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed.
• Ensure door-tagging and resident notifications for construction are completed daily.
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic flow per local DOT guidelines.
• Overtime travel and on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
• Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certifiedPrevious labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
