Job summary

Sunrise Telecom Inc in Ohio is seeking a field technician for aerial fiber construction. You will operate bucket trucks and related equipment, set up job sites, and work with crews to lash fiber cables and frame poles.

The role requires a high school diploma, about 1 year of experience, and the ability to work nights or weekends as needed. You will read network prints, follow OSHA safety rules, and communicate with the crew by phone throughout the workday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Must be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screenings.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate bucket truck and other equipment for aerial fiber construction.
• Set up jobs (strand trailer, fiber trailer and caddies) effectively.
• Observe clearances from utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk and nonpedestrian areas.
• Frame poles according to industry specifications.
• lash/over-lash single and multiple fiber cable bundles.
• Read and interpret network prints.
• Safely climb poles using gaffs or ladders.
• Adhere to OSHA safety requirements.
• Communicate by phone throughout the day.
• Follow directions from crew leader.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
