Job summary

Morris County EMS is hiring an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) to provide advanced prehospital care in the Council Grove area.

You will respond to high‑pressure calls, perform ALS tasks, administer medications, monitor patients, and work with EMTs and paramedics to ensure a smooth transition of care. This role requires strong teamwork, stamina for long shifts, and a commitment to patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited AEMT training program.
• Certification as an AEMT from a recognized certifying body (e.g., NREMT).
• Valid state‑specific AEMT certification or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency medical calls and provide advanced life support (ALS) and prehospital care to patients.
• Assess patients' conditions, establish the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses, and provide appropriate treatment.
• Perform advanced airway management, including intubation and advanced respiratory support.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments under medical direction.
• Perform ECG monitoring and interpretation to assess cardiac conditions.
• Use specialized equipment such as defibrillators, spinal immobilization devices, and oxygen delivery systems.
• Safely transport patients to medical facilities while continuously monitoring their condition.
• Provide ongoing medical care during transport, adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Document medications administered, procedures performed, and any changes in the patient's condition.
• Work as part of an emergency medical services (EMS) team, including EMTs, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate with hospital staff to provide a smooth transition of care upon patient arrival.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families in high-stress situations.

Primary Responsibilities

Emergency Medical Care

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education/Training
