Job summary

DEPT® is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to serve as the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Tech Lead on client projects. You will own delivery from inception through launch, turning architecture and product goals into concrete implementation plans and technical tasks.

You will be hands-on, client-facing, and mentored a delivery team, guiding engineers, reviewing code, and ensuring quality and timely delivery across CMS integrations and cloud-native deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with delivery leadership.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting AEM-based solutions.
• Strong consulting, communication, and leadership skills to explain tradeoffs clearly to engineers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Anchor delivery from inception to launch, defining plans, estimates, risks and definitions of done.
• Build production-quality website components and AEM code (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS).
• Establish coding standards for components, Sling Models, OSGi, and testing.
• Lead and mentor delivery teams, review PRs, and foster collaboration.
• Partner with QA and DevOps on testing, security, performance, and releases.
• Define API contracts and integration points with AEM and external systems.
