North Iowa Area Community College seeks a part-time AEL Instructor to facilitate assessments and teach ESL or HSE courses. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and strong computer skills. This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Applications are reviewed on an as‑needed basis according to institutional needs in the current or upcoming academic year.
Part‑time
Work as a member of the Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) team. Facilitate assessments and teach English as a Second Language (ESL) or High School Equivalency (HSE) courses. Advocate for students, demonstrating sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds of AEL students, including those with physical and learning disabilities. Class schedules vary by community. Weekly time commitments average 6–12 hours for instruction and preparation, with occasional weeks increasing to as much as 15 hours depending on professional development or class needs.
Hourly rate to be determined at time of hire; not to exceed 29 hours per week. This position is not eligible for benefits.
