Job summary

Constellation is a leading energy company seeking a senior communications professional to devise and execute proactive state and federal public policy communications strategies. You will build and sustain grassroots coalitions, engage NGOs and thought leaders, and influence policymakers through public advocacy and digital campaigns.

The role reports to the VP of Strategic Communication and Public Advocacy and collaborates with Government Affairs, Communications, and other business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' experience, or Master's with 9+ years.
• 14+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in political/policy communications, advocacy, journalism, public relations or similar.
• Excellent writer and cogent thinker.
• Familiarity with digital campaigning and social media campaigning.
• Demonstrated talent for strategic problem-solving and with a bias for action.
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute strategic communications plans for state and federal public policy objectives.
• Build and maintain grassroots coalitions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key thought leaders, NGOs and allied advocacy groups.
• Influence policymakers on key regulatory and legislative priorities through public advocacy and activations.
• Manage agency contracts and relationships to build modern digital campaigns and messaging documents for public policy priorities and stakeholder activation initiatives.
• Monitor emerging issues from federal and state levels.
• Provide strategic recommendations to advance support for business and policy priorities.
