UnitedHealth Group's Optum Advisory is seeking an entry-level professional for the Consultant Development Program, with a focus on applying AI and data analytics to solve real healthcare problems. You will work with clients to design AI-enabled solutions, research and analyze data, and craft recommendations across care providers, payers, and organizations.

This full-time, in-office program offers hands-on consulting experience, exposure to go-to-market strategies, and opportunities to develop

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree earned within the past 24 months and completed before start of employment; verified within 6-8 weeks.
Experience in data analysis, product management, project management, business analysis, documenting requirements and using cases; ability to apply AI tools to support research, analysis, reporting, documentation or workflow improvement.
Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) through academic, professional, or personal experience.
Willingness to work in-office on a 3-days-in-office schedule at Eden Prairie, MN; Nashville, TN or Washington, DC.
Ability to travel up to 80% for the Consultant Development Program, dependent on project needs and location.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

Work directly with clients to solve complex business problems through technology, AI, process improvement and innovation.
Apply AI tools to support research, analysis, reporting and automation; build and optimize prompts.
Conduct research and stakeholder interviews to collect, analyze, and present data and recommendations.
Navigate client interactions, presentations, and relationship building during project delivery and change management.
Integrate AI into workflows to generate actionable insights across dashboards and operational processes.
Support project management duties including planning, budgeting, and meeting management.
Document customer requirements with clear written and oral communication; define before/after process flows.
Participate in assessment, sizing, market analysis and scope evaluation of potential deliverables.
