Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking an Advisory Analyst for its Integrated Planning & Advisory (IP&A) division in the United States. The role supports consulting engagements with energy and utility clients, handling research, data analysis, and workshop support to deliver client value.

The Advisory Analyst for TRC Companies’ Integrated Planning & Advisory (IP&A) division will play a pivotal role in supporting consulting engagements for energy and utility clients. Advisory Analysts are part of the Advisory team and will have responsibility for supporting quality services to clients by supporting client proposals and high‑quality client engagements to enable clients to achieve their strategic goals. The position requires a strong blend of consulting expertise, industry insight, and a passion for delivering exceptional client value and for mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

Client Engagement Support

  • Support client engagements through research, data collection and analysis, scheduling and note-taking.
  • Develop an understanding of the utility industry, customer business processes and TRC’s approach to Advisory Services.
  • Support project planning and documentation by organizing deliverable, timelines and data for internal and client-facing use.
  • Assist in business case development, technology roadmaps, and strategic planning.
  • Attend and support workshops, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions.
  • Prepare polished presentations and deliverables tailored for stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to internal best practices.
  • Provide innovative insights to the TRC Team on matters related to client engagements and internal processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or university.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Capable of quickly learning new skills or understanding business models' clients are using.
  • Capable of maintaining a high energy level to handle a dynamic, fast‑paced workload.
  • Comfortable creating high‑quality documentation, research materials and polished presentations for clients.
  • Ability to interact professionally with client stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Data Analytics and/or AI Expertise.
  • Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in sciences and topics related to the utilities industry, such as Energy Policy, Meteorology, Fire Science, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Field Services / Dispatch Operations, etc.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in technologies related to the utilities industry, such as OMS, EMS, ADMS, GIS, Remote Sensing, etc.
  • Experience authoring presentations, articles, and other collateral relevant to the energy and utility industries.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
