Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Safety Advisor to protect people and strengthen safety culture across power generation sites in North America. You will partner with operational leaders to implement the Safety Management program and drive safe work practices on wind/solar sites, primarily in Texas and the southern U.S., with broader regional reach.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 4+ years in health and safety within energy, and strong communication skills.

In this role, you will be a trusted partner to operational leaders and field teams - championing our prevention of serious injuries and fatalities and implementing the safety management system that keeps our people safe and our communities powered.

What You Will Do:
  • Safety Advisor to wind and solar sites predominantly in Texas and the southern United States, along with locations in Northern or Central U.S. and Canada as required.

  • Champion safety culture by partnering with operational leadership to implement the Safety Management program and ensure safe work practices.

  • Conduct safety assessments, inspections, and observations - then trend the data and drive corrective actions to completion.

  • Support the full incident management cycle, from reporting and investigation through corrective action monitoring and lessons learned.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance by interfacing with federal, state, and third-party auditors and delivering timely, corrective action plans.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university.

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible health and safety experience within the energy industry. For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3-year of experience is required (total 7+ years).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence outcomes without direct authority, train and motivate people to work safely, work collaboratively, and deliver results while managing multiple priorities independently.

  • Strong research, problem-solving, observation, analytical, and report writing skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels, with excellent presentation skills.

  • Prior experience working with renewable energy generation and prior experience or specialization with electrical safety is preferred.

Physical Requirements

include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements

(Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Working Conditions:
  • Office and field environments.

  • Significant travel (~50%) within the region. Ability to travel and work throughout the United States. Valid passport is required as travel may be required outside of the U.S.

  • Must have a driver's license.

  • You will undergo various background screenings that include but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical.

  • Ability to climb several stories high in a confined space.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $80,500 - $120,500 USD for U.S. locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
