Job summary

Elanco is a global leader in animal health seeking a senior intelligence leader to design and drive a world-class competitive intelligence program. Based in a hybrid Indianapolis setting, you will partner with R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams to turn data into strategic insights that support Elanco's 2030 vision.

You will build an automated data stack, apply AI-driven analysis, and distill complex market shifts into concise recommendations for the Executive Committee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic consulting.
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights for executives.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a competitive intelligence framework aligned with Elanco's pillars.
• Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams to gather insights, aggregate data and track competitor activity.
• Develop and manage an automated technology stack, leveraging AI-driven tools to collect and synthesize information.
• Prepare and deliver data-driven updates and strategic recommendations to Senior Management and the Executive Committee.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Competitive Intelligence Framework Development: Design and lead a world-class competitive intelligence framework, establishing standardized processes for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating insights aligned with Elanco's strategic pillars.
• Cross-Functional Intelligence Gathering: Serve as a central intelligence hub, building partnerships with field teams and technical experts across R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams to gather expert insights, aggregate data and track competitor pipelines.
• Automation and Process Excellence: Develop and manage an automated technology stack, leveraging AI-driven tools to efficiently collect and synthesize large volumes of information from sources like news, patent filings, and financial reports.
• In-Depth Analysis and Synthesis: Conduct deep-dive analysis to distill complex market shifts, competitor activities, and emerging trends into actionable "so-what" implications for Elanco’s 2030 strategy.
• Executive Reporting and Advisory: Prepare and deliver regular, data-driven updates and strategic recommendations to Senior Management and the Executive Committee to inform high-stakes decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills

• Basic Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic consulting, preferably within the Life Sciences or Animal Health industry.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to connect disparate data points into a cohesive strategic narrative.
• Preferred Technical Skills
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and automated data extraction.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM applications for research and synthesis.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence senior-level stakeholders.
