Description

Provide insurance and risk management solutions to clients and prospects to proactively meet and exceed client needs. Role involves sales through an established marketing process requiring development and maintenance of strong relationships with clients, prospects and carriers.



Requirements


  • Serves as a goodwill ambassador in the community with current and prospective clients.

  • Identify latest trends in insurance marketplace and assess the appropriate programs, plans and options best suited for the specific needs of prospects and clients.

  • Identify viable prospects and develop clientele through networking and community involvement.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current clients, prospects, key decision makers and carrier representation to provide best outcomes.

  • Develop strategic sales and action plan, including pursuit of referral business and utilization of cold-calling techniques, with clear goals and objectives to increase sales, consistent with agency mission and vision.

  • Follow established marketing strategy to identify needs and key risk factors, develop recommendations and provide solutions.

  • Advise clients and prospects on products and services based on the needs of the customer, the agency and carriers represented.

  • Provide excellence in customer service to existing and prospective client base as well as internal staff.

  • Verify accuracy of proposals, issued policies/certificates/booklets; provide communication and documentation to client with appropriate correspondence.

  • Follow through on all inquiries and requests to ensure timely receipt and response.

  • Review and communicate renewal calculations, utilization information and report data to clients.

  • Make group policy placement decisions based on the needs of the client, the agency and the carriers represented.

  • Assess group risk situations to ensure they meet the agency’s standards and those of the companies represented.

  • Provide detailed information necessary to complete applications for employee benefits insurance coverages, including demographics, business details, price quotations and comparisons for carriers represented.

  • Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn new products, services and skills necessary to maintain current knowledge of industry, products and services.

  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations and education meetings.

  • Understand, review and negotiate coverage levels and premiums to provide optimum coverage levels for clients.

  • Communicate effectively and courteously to clients, employees and vendors via telephone, virtually or in person.

  • Assist with information necessary to maintain customer files in computerized database system.

  • Escalate or assist in negotiating premiums with underwriters and rating teams.

  • Provide cross-selling to Advisors in other departments.

  • Develop COIN (Center of Influence) relationships.

  • Pursue engagement opportunities through positive citizenship and community leadership roles with the goal of expanding community influence.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management or team members.



Summary

Additional duties of the Advisor include serving as a goodwill ambassador in the community, identifying latest trends in the insurance marketplace, and assessing appropriate plans best suited for the specific needs of prospects and clients. The position identifies viable prospects, develops strategic sales and action plan, and utilizes cold-calling techniques to increase sales consistent with agency mission and vision. The Advisor advises clients and prospects on product and services, provides excellence in customer service, and conducts sales presentations and education meetings. In addition, the position assesses the client risk situation, communicates renewal calculations and utilization information, and makes policy placement decisions based on the needs of the client, agency and carriers represented.



Three or more years of sales experience, and insurance industry certifications are preferred. A Missouri Producer insurance license must be obtained within 60 days of employment. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is also required.
