Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring for an on-site evening telephone triage nurse at our Support Center in Atlanta, GA. The role requires on-site work during evenings and weekends, with hours 5 PM to 11 PM part-time (24 hrs/wk) or 5 PM to 1 AM full-time (32 hrs/wk).

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of pediatric RN experience, with pediatrics in emergency, urgent care, or primary care preferred. Licenses and certifications include GA or multi-state RN licensure, BLS, and PEARS.

Qualifications

  • RN with at least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience.
  • Pediatrics experience preferred (emergency, urgent care, or primary care).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; licensed to practice in GA or multi-state (EC).
  • Licensure as RN in GA or multi-state (Compact), BLS within 30 days, PEARS within 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nursing process across the continuum delivering age-appropriate patient-family-centered care.
  • Uses clinical decision support tools to recognize issues, prioritize care, and modify plans.
  • Implements patient education and documentation to ensure safe, effective care.
  • Provides oversight for nursing care by unlicensed personnel and supports ethical practice.

Job Description

This position is Not Remote.

It will be based at the Support Center in Atlanta GA. Hours are 5PM-11PM for Part-time (24 hrs/wk) and 5PM-1AM for Fulltime (32 hrs./wk).

This role involves working on a telephone triage service responding to calls from parents when local pediatricians' offices are closed and using symptom-based protocols to assess and advise regarding injuries and illnesses.

Our ideal candidate comes with at least 5 years of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in emergency, urgent care, or pediatric primary care environments, and is available to work on-site during evenings and weekends.

Experience
  • 1 year of RN experience; pediatrics highly preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Previous Pediatric experience in Emergency, Urgent Care and/or Primary care
Education
  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing
Certification Summary
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) within 1 year of employment
