The Advertising Operations Specialist Serves as an operational partner to Sales and cross-functional business teams, to prioritize work, resolve operational challenges, coordinate projects, and provide analytics and insights that help inform sales and other business partners. The Specialist provides operational guidance, pertinent advertising fulfillment data, and provides support that enables Sales to respond quickly to client opportunities. This role coordinates cross-functional communication, oversees operational priorities, and ensures project work is completed accurately, efficiently, and timely.
The Specialist also owns key reporting processes and dashboards, supports workflow management, quality assurance, process documentation, and collaborates on continuous process improvement. By developing expertise in Crain's advertising systems, products, and fulfillment processes, this role identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, enhance the customer experience, and support scalable growth across the organization.
Preference is to work onsite 3 days a week from one of our offices: Chicago, New York City, Detroit, Cleveland, Grand Rapids or Houston. Possible to work remote from one of the locations listed below for the highly qualified individual.
This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000.
The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.

Physical activities will include frequent in‑person or virtual interactions. For most positions, it is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods, perform computer-related tasks, and create/maintain documents within filing systems. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing reports and information, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. The typical physical requirements are light work‑exerting up to 25lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10lbs of force frequently and may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Some positions will have additional physical requirements, including exerting up to 50lbs of force to move and/or carry equipment, supplies, files, or other materials as the role requires.
