Job summary

The Social Publication is seeking an Advertising Director to help local businesses connect with readers in West Linn, Oregon. You will work directly with business owners, build lasting client relationships, and grow the community book of business.

As a 1099 independent contractor, compensation is commission-based with bonuses and potential earnings growth as campaigns expand. You’ll identify prospects, present options, and stay connected to plan future advertising with clients.

You'll work directly with business owners, develop lasting client relationships, and build a book of business in the community you know.

From a family's story to a favorite neighborhood business, we help readers discover the people and places around them. Our advertisers are part of that experience, connecting with residents through a publication that celebrates where they live.

What you'll do

As Advertising Director, you'll introduce local businesses to The Social Publication, learn what they want to accomplish, and help them choose advertising that fits their goals.

Your work will include finding prospective advertisers, starting conversations, presenting advertising options, and following up to earn their business. You'll also stay connected with your clients, helping them plan future advertising and building relationships beyond the first sale.

What you bring

You enjoy getting to know people, ask good questions, and follow through on what you say you'll do. You're comfortable reaching out to someone new, taking initiative, and managing your time.

Experience in sales, advertising, marketing, hospitality, or customer service is welcome. Whether you have years of sales experience or are ready to bring your people skills into a new field, we'd like to hear from you.

Compensation

Average first-year earnings are $65,000-$100,000, with the potential to earn $150,000+ in year two. Actual earnings depend on sales performance and are not guaranteed.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with commission-only compensation and no base salary or draw.

Earn recurring commissions of up to 80%, depending on monthly sales volume and performance relative to benchmark production and operating costs. Those costs are not paid out of pocket by the contractor.

Start-up and ongoing bonuses are also available.
