Job summary

The USC Thornton School of Music is seeking an Assistant Director of Stewardship and Advancement Operations to lead donor stewardship, data integrity, and operations that support a dynamic fundraising program. You will craft stewardship communications and reports, coordinate gift administration, and collaborate across Thornton and USC Central Advancement to advance priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in combined education/experience.
• Five years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in advancement, donor relations, stewardship, fundraising operations, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience working with donor data, databases, and reporting or reconciliation processes.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage donor stewardship program, including gift acknowledgements, donor recognition, impact reports, and annual stewardship for scholarships and funds.
• Develop stewardship communications and materials that demonstrate impact of philanthropy and strengthen donor relationships.
• Prepare donor research, briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up communications for donor meetings.
• Build relationships with donors and alumni through meetings, communications, campus visits, performances, and events.
• Coordinate with USC Central Advancement Stewardship to align requirements, resources, and deadlines.
• Own day-to-day advancement operations and maintain donor/gift information in systems with reports and tools.
