Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Wind Technician I (Advanced Level) at Ninnescah Wind in Pratt, KS. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose electrical/electronic and mechanical issues, and ensure turbine availability while working outdoors at heights.

This on-site role requires a High School diploma or GED, 3+ years in a technical field or a technical certificate, ability to climb turbines up to 300 feet, and a valid non CDL driver’s license; relocation is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED.
• 3+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program.
• Ability to climb wind turbines up to 300 feet.
• Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Responsibilities

• Performs regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment
• Completes electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Maintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
• Applies advanced understanding of the technical and process functions as well as a basic understanding of Quality Improvement (QI) processes
• Provides oversight to other personnel and acts as a Safety Mentor
• Demonstrates mastery of process and technical skills and problem solving expertise by way of board review
• Ability to meet attendance requirements
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
