Job summary

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck dealer, is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic for the Swing Shift to diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 7 and 8 trucks. You will lead by example, uphold safety and quality standards, and mentor other technicians in the shop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working on medium/heavy-duty Class 7/8 trucks including engine repair, electrical, HVAC and chassis.
• Basic computer knowledge; Cummins MX software experience preferred.
• Self-motivation, assertiveness and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills; must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead diagnosis, repair and maintenance of medium and heavy Class 7/8 trucks.
• Mentor and support other technicians in the shop.
• Analyze complex mechanical/electrical malfunctions and determine repair strategy.
• Perform repairs or rebuilds on engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical and air systems.
• Ensure uptime and safe, correct completion of repairs the first time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As our Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic, you’ll be a leader in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks. You will be required to have a deep mechanical understanding, sound judgment, and the ability to lead by example while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism in every task.

Your daily focus will be ensuring that every truck repair is completed with precision, efficiency, and lasting quality, while also serving as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians in the shop. Each day you will analyze complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, determine the best repair strategy, and execute repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. You’ll play a key role in supporting our customers by maximizing uptime and getting trucks back on the road quickly, safely, and correctly the first time.

This team member will work Monday – Friday 3:30pm – midnight.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• 5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
• Basic computer knowledge. Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
• Self-motivation and assertiveness.
• Ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Must provide own tools.

Compensation: $41.90-46.45/hr (Depending on Experience)
