Job summary

Total Transportation of Mississippi is seeking a Tractor Technician II in Jackson, MS, working Monday–Friday from 3:30pm to 12:30am. Compensation ranges from $23.39 to $28.59 per hour, with duties spanning diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance of tractors and trailers, while ensuring DOT compliance and safety.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of tractor experience, professional tool ownership, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a shop environment.

Qualifications

• DOT, AC, and brake certifications required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Ability to read and write.
• Must provide own hand tools adequate to perform job functions.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift typical shop weights.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmissions, engines, electrical systems, suspensions and brakes.
• Repair/replace body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
• Perform DOT inspections as TTMS guidelines.
• Prepare tractors for next driver and complete DOT forms.
• Operate and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment.
• Drive trucks in and out of shop as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and productivity in the work area.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality to ensure efficient operation.
